Angelcare Monitors Inc. is a young and dynamic business created in 1997 by Maurice Pinsonnault. The idea of developing this concept came with the birth of my first child says Maurice Pinsonnault. I was overwhelmed with the anxiety that all new parents face. My wife and I were constantly watching our baby and its breathing movements.
A year later, he heard of an existing monitor in the United Kingdom that detects babies' breathing movements, but it was a very expensive medical device. After conducting studies and carrying out research alongside parents with babies at risk, Angelcare Monitors Inc. was created to give peace of mind to all parents.
Now Angelcare ® monitors, which are non-medical devices, are sold world-wide (in more than 40 countries), with an improved technology, a friendly design and at a very reasonable price.
The company's goal is to develop a brand image based on innovation and quality. David Dredge and Maurice Pinsonnault, who are both experienced and knowledgeable in engineering and product development, are constantly researching ways to improve the product line. The designer is Michel Dallaire Design Industriel Inc. which created the Angel concept, synonymous with a "guardian angel" looking after children.
Angelcare ® has won several awards:
Gold Medal & the Grand Prize of Inventions (among 1000 inventions) at the "Invention Show" in Geneva, Switzerland in April 1999; the jury was composed of 60 people.
First prize at the "Juvenile Product Manufacturer Associations" show in Dallas, USA in November 1998.
" Virtu 12 Award" in Toronto, Canada for the best design in the consumers' products category and this amid 150 competitors.
" Research Special Award 2000" from the L'Institut de Design Montreal, Canada.
